Ralph Lauren Crests

 Crests used to be very common in the olden days. People would brazen family crests into the doors of their home - marking territory or showing how proud they are of their heritage. I love fashion because it only exists because reality does. Fashion designer take months and sometimes years to develop something and then almost immediatley, trends are set. So when a high-end designer like Ralph Lauren takes the bold step of implementing crests on formal blazers, you know that it has become serious business.

Personally, i love the one above as it is a crest-pin which is not sewn into the blazer but rather, bought separately and pinned to the garment you want it on. It is perfect as it offers you the chance to put it on when you are going to have lunch with a few friends and take it off when you are leaving the friends behind to close off a business deal with a prospective customer that very day.

Bold fashion statement or free-advertising (they do scream RALPH LAUREN don't they)?
